Ahhh FINALLY!!!

Here we are my beauty belle’s my shining light of the day! Literally cannot describe my love for this product!…if you’re anything like me I’m very sceptical and if I’m honest have no belief in primers. That is of course not to say that there aren’t good ones out there but historically I’ve tried many and have been irritatingly disappointed!…generally if I have a primer it’s too wet so whatever I apply on top slowly slides off like a lollipop on a hot day or the has the other products sit on top so that everything you touch your clothing your light switches god damn it even your toilet roll leaves forensic finger prints of proof your wearing makeup and did not wake up looking like a model this morning…but I gotta say this one 😍😍 soooo much love! It has a silicone base and although comes out really thick it does feel concerningly wet when applied but fear not have patience my DL followers allow the product to sit for even just 30 seconds and then apply over the top. My make up does not move! Like at all…I look like I just applied 8 hours later as I did when I was sat with my kabuki brush at 8am with my eyes closed…now don’t get me wrong about 8 hours is your lot but still that’s a full nights partying or a full days work as for the price it’s below £4!!! You don’t get a lot granted but you also don’t need a lot either…less than a pea size application will cover your whole face and if I’m honest I wish I bought a bundle because I predict it’s going to be hot to trot from the shelves pretty soon!!…luckily for my fellow followers I did buy enough for my free giveaway today so get commenting guys #gottabeinittowiniti

Goooood morning sunshine’s….

Yes that’s correct I said sunshine something we do not appear to have over in the UK this morning and if your like me who woke up with one eye closed and added a double scoop of coffee to your cup then your probably also needing a little help with those tired puffy eyes too!…so first product of the day this one is from the ordinary and you’ve probably seen this product a lot on social media especially places such as tik tok promising a tiny drop of this liquid magic will resolve puffiness, dark circles all the things we 30+ need with a work and home schedule that allows us around 6 hours sleep!…welll I’m sorry to say this product will not see the results endorsements are giving it. Now don’t be disheartened my little worker bees it does have some effect. This product retails around £6 so not a huge amount but it really requires true dedication in your skin care routine. It must be applied both in the morning and evening which can be a problem if like me you rarely have time to let it sink in prior to make up application. Having used this product for six months now I religiously apply it after my nighttime skin care routine and will admit it does very very slightly reduce those irritating little puffy bags under the eyes but a full retrieval of your once 20 year old self it will not and it is not fast acting these results won’t be seen for a couple of weeks so perseverance is a must!…overall not a bad one to have in the cupboard it’s inexpensive and does have some good properties if used as stated but do not expect instant or long lasting results this one is only a 5/10 for me…

Another Wednesday down and we survived wooo!!…the make up is off! The candles are lit it is time for this little worker bee to power down. Summer lifesaver

Listen up kings, queens and aubergines we have an absolute summer lifesaver here! Quick disclaimer before I go ahead although with what I am about to tell you it may be tempting do not under any circumstances attempt to apply this product to your face or your genital area!…yes I know it may be tempting when you get that lovely sweaty glow above the lip during a friendly summer bbq or the untimely down below sweats when wearing those lovely linen shorts but trust when I say from experience you will end up with both areas rather bumpy and incredibly sore. However…if you are like myself and do experience random bouts of untimely sweating be it at a summer bbq, glam wedding or sat in a meeting wearing the only white shirt you could find and struggling to contain your growing under arm sweat patches this is the product for you!…apply the morning of under your arms and wash off approx 30 mins later. Add your usual underarm freshen up and trust me this product will not let you down and usually lasts me on average 3-5 days before I need to reapply. Having tried every product under the sun to prevent the embarrassment of my underarms slowly dripping onto the liner of my satin dress with no success it was actually my boss who told me to give this a whirl (the sheer embarrassment of her mentioning it spurred me to give it a go)…retails around £6 can be found at most pharmacies it’s a summer must have for me! Plus it’s super tiny so in the event you do need to reapply is perfect for your pocket or small purse 👍🏻👍🏻

Hmmm…

Ok guys so next up my worst buy…I’ve chosen this one as I applied it last night after previously having used it twice and suffered break outs I felt welllllll maybe I was just having a bad skin day you know how it goes you go to bed feeling beautiful and wake up with cystic acne you never knew even existed!!…so this one caudalie vinosource I bought from a very well known online beauty brand. It wasn’t too expensive around £13 but you know it’s 25ml so it’s not an amount you want to spend regularly if it’s something that isn’t going to produce what it says on the tin…this little beauty has rave reviews for its ‘skin healing’ properties containing borage oil, cucumber, mint all the good stuff I like to see in a product. It’s described as an SOS for dry skin and promises to plump and calm sore sensitive skin…perfect for the winter months I thought as I do suffer with those horrible dry skin patches your makeup loves to cling to. Well I’m sad to say this cream has not worked for me! It is a very heavy cream and therefore I applied it only to my dry patches (and forehead that is slowly beginning to look like it’s own road map). I used this after my bedtime skin routine which I always finish by removing all product with a warm bamboo face cloth (we’ll be having a look at those later) and wait until my skin is fully dry (pores closed!). I expected I think to apply this and wake up plumped and glowy but instead woke up each time with quite a significant break out. My skin did feel really soft that part is true but ‘calm’ my sensitive skin it did not! My lines to the forehead also somehow looked deeper than ever the morning after application and my skin erupted with little white pimples. All in all I think this cream has some good properties but is just too heavy for the skin on your face…in a waste not want not last ditch attempt it has now become a hand cream for me…but a little really does go a long way so not all a waste 😬👍🏻

Morning panic!

Morning my beautiful workaholics! So today’s Best Buy (I’m going to be doing the worst shortly) but I had to get this one in as I’ve literally just used it!…so if you’re anything like me and you have days working from home right now you’ll probably have set your alarm and lulled yourself into a false sense of security with ‘just five more minutes…hit snooze’…yeah! We all know that rush you had it all planned out didn’t you and before you know it you have 3 minutes to look half way presentable in front of your very virtual but very real boss eeek…well fear not my darlings this little beauty ^^ is all you need (and maybe a little mascara). I was actually given this product by a friend. I had already tried Dr Jart colour corrector and if you’re anything like me come 30 your skin has a manic episode where it’s either as oily as a pubescent teenager or as dry as a 90 year old foot!…mine is the latter…needless to say after applying Dr Jart I looked like a 200 year old painting that had been improperly stored…this however is for all purposes a bb cream. It’s very loose more like a lotion in texture but is applied green and blends naturally to your skin tone as you apply…gotta say guys at £35 I was very sceptical about whether I would buy another but after whipping this on before a meeting (or before my partner wakes up on a weekend so he thinks I’m naturally extra glowy and gorgeous) I’m very very impressed! Its dewy but doesn’t sit on the skin leaving no creases and no excess. It’s a genuine make up must have!!!

Okay so let’s be frank…I’m no superstar, no ‘former beauty editor’ or makeup expert. I’m a 30+ northern woman with a mega stressful job that pays half of what it should running a home that costs double what I can afford and trying to at some point fit in being…well everything else!!…I can’t run to save my life and meditation usually ends with a list of things I took the time to remember to do during my ‘relaxation’. The long and short at the very least I like to attempt to take care of my body and look somewhat ‘presentable’ during regular now all online meetings that cameras appear to add three chins to!…so I decided I wanted to overhaul my beauty routine this blog is everything I found and continue to find for every 30+ woman struggling with their body and skin and spending £100’s on products that well…don’t work…no plugging, no bulsh*t just THE DL…
